My family and professional life will not allow me to continue alone the development of components for Joomla. I have'nt enough free time to maintain my site alphaplug. I am less and less present to host the forum and give support. Alphaplug is present on the web since May 13, 2008 and ascended to power by the day. Started with a simple hobby, this project has become more important than I thought and my time, my life no longer allows me to provide a service that meets Joomla's users expectations. The site has taken on a life and even if it has become interesting for me financially, I can not go on this adventure alone. So I am looking for a professional buyer may invest and increase its profits, and continue to support projects which interest the whole of Joomla community. Having no basis for the management of a business or even marketing, I think alphaplug can still be more profitable than it already is. So, notice to interested parties. I am available for any further information. You can use the contact form to join me.

This is my JED Review.

To the successor, be sure to take a look at Alpha Content, this is a pearl.
Thanks Bernard
it's wise decision to look for partners because one person cannot cope or be good with everything.
I'm in similar boat with my business. After I got child I simply cannot clear daily (auto-generated) agenda. I also don't want to spend whole day in a front of PC anymore :)
So, good luck with finding good partner I'm sure you'll find it, because you are already established as good and solid source for various Joomla stuff.

I've gotten a reply before, so I know it works fine.
Thanks
What I'm suggesting is a community takeover of the alphaplug site until we can get team of developers that we are sure can continue Bernard's legacy. I know a lot good to great developers personally and I'm going to be contacting them real soon if Bernard and I can come to an agreement.
Although, the problem I see and what I think many potential developers are seeing as well, can alphaplug be profitable? While having free software is important to me, most developers want to be paid for their time. Which I believe is one of the reasons why Bernard can't maintain alphaplug anymore.
So what I'm trying to do make the community that uses and loves alphaplug extensions responsible for its upkeep.
If you need a simple assistant (sadly I'm not a php expert) I would be willing to help out in the forums and such. Alphacontent was one of my favorite extensions of joomla, and in my opinion needs to live on as a great extension. Perhaps a thread needs to be made in the main joomla forums asking for developers to help join in a project. I plan on getting experienced with php hopefully within the next year. I've been a fan of alphaplug since nearly the beginning. Bernard, your hard work has been appreciated. In my opinion your doing the noble thing to let this software continue on. I know what it's like to have a very busy life. Long live Alphaplug!
Cheers Josh Lewis
I am a LONG time user of your alphauserpoints extension and I am sadden by your announcement. While I am not a developer, I am willing to take on alphaplug and continue on your legacy of releasing great extensions for free.
What I am offering is to take over Alphaplug and manage it, while I search (or create) for a team of developers that will take over as the main developers.
In the meantime, I will need you to continue support of ONLY the paid extensions while I'll take over support of all free extensions. When I have a team in place that can take over (support and development) of the paid extensions, I want to keep you on as an advisor.
Eventually, I would like to pay you for the site and copyrights of the extensions. Think about it. (BTW, delete the previous comment I left when I wasn't logged into my account).
